Fire Risk: Hotpoint Dishwashers Recalled
If you purchased a Hotpoint dishwasher four to six years ago, there is a small chance that it could be a fire hazard. Recently, the home appliance manufacturer has issued a recall for thousands of dishwashers that could potentially start fires. So, we’ve put together a quick guide to stop help you double-check the safety of your appliance.
1. What year was your dishwasher manufacturered?
Only Hotpoint dishwashers that were manufactured between 2006 and 2008 will be affected by the hazard. If it was manufactured before or after, you can skip this step.
2. Turn off and unplug your dishwasher.
When checking for safety concerns, you should ensure that the appliance is turned off so there’s no risk of injury or accident.
3. Check the model and serial number.
These numbers are found on the inside of the door. If the first five digits of the serial number are between S/N 60601 and S/N 80531, then your machine is at risk. If there is a green sticker on the door, then it has already been repaired and there is no further risk.
4. Contact Hotpoint.
