Since the trending colours change every year, it is a good idea to make design changes that are not too permanent. It may not be wise to replace entire cabinets or appliances to keep up with Pantone’s Spring 2015 colour trends – so, here are a few ways that you can conveniently give your kitchen new life.

The Colours
Last year, Pantone’s trending colours were very bold. Wild Orchid and Marsala were statement colours that were quite difficult to integrate into an existing colour scheme. 2015’s colours are much more subdued, featuring cooler and more airy shades that can easily be included in your kitchen décor.  They are:

  • Aquamarine
  • Scuba Blue
  • Lucite Green
  • Classic Blue
  • Toasted Almond
  • Strawberry Ice
  • Tangerine
  • Custard
  • Marsala
  • Glacier Grey
  • Dusk Blue
  • Treetop
  • Woodbine
  • Sandstone
  • Titanium
  • Lavender Herb

A splashback is a flat piece of glass or vinyl that adds a touch of colour to your kitchen walls. They are usually placed behind the hob to help protect the wall, and they are available in a wide range of colours.

Replacing your curtains or blinds is a great way to introduce Pantone’s colours into your kitchen. If taking down and putting up new curtains is more of a hassle than you’re willing to bother with, invest in new tea towels and hand towels. Draping these linens off of cupboard doors adds a nice splash of colour with minimal effort.

Coffee and biscuit tins, clocks, jars and vases are all inexpensive accents that can be used to add a touch of trendy colour into your kitchen décor scheme. Visit your local TK Maxx or thrift shop to find unique and interesting accent pieces that you can scatter across your kitchen counters.
