Minute read

Having spent most of 2020 in our kitchens, cooking, baking and doing anything else possible to occupy our seemingly endless time, a lot of people will now be looking towards 2021 as the year to improve or modernise their cooking space.

In this article, we’ll be taking you through the must have kitchen trends of 2021 that we’ve spotted early on, and will be showing you how here at ShipIt, we can help you get that dream kitchen you’ve always wanted.

Muted, Stylish, Minimalist

One key trend we have spotted already happening in the later months of 2020 that will definitely be coming with us into the new year is the minimalist style. Less bright colours, more muted use of black and white, and a more calming presence in the kitchen.

It might be hard to believe that black and white kitchens are taking over in style from your usual greys, and while these colours might not be your cup of tea, don’t fret as softer pastel colours are also being seen more and more, and could suit your kitchen perfectly.

At ShipIt, we’re seeing more and more people go for appliances like this Contemporary Monobloc Kitchen Tap and this Black Kitchen Splashback to give their kitchens a muted but stylish look and feel. Pairing these two with a sleek black or white Ceramic Sink could give your kitchen a real classy feeling.

Composite Sinks

One specific aspect of a kitchen that is proving incredibly popular right now is the Composite Sink, such as this Grey Composite Sink with Steel Drainer Bars. They have a composition of 80% quartz, mixed with acrylic resin that creates a material that is very hard-wearing and durable, while also being incredibly hygienic and easy to clean. They are also completely resistant to heat, dents, scratches and stains.

So if you’re not a huge fan of stainless steel sinks and want a completely different look and feel, then a composite sink could be the answer for you. As we discussed previously, the trend in the kitchen market is embracing the dark colour schemes and composite sinks are a great match for these styles of kitchen. Not only can they create a real statement centrepiece but they are very practical and easy to use too.

Warming Drawers

If you have watched the Great British Bake Off, you will know how useful a warming drawer can be for avid bakers. Our range of electric warming drawers from trusted brands like CDA can fit seamlessly into anywhere in the modern kitchen like underneath an oven or in a special place in the kitchen counter.

A Stainless Steel Warming Drawer is a must have if you are a fan of baking, and will see you baking your own cakes, bread and more from your own kitchen in no time.

Instant Boiling Water Taps

Hot water taps are certainly going to be a sought-after item for the kitchen of 2021, potentially being influenced by more and more of us working from home and therefore wanting hot water on demand for making tea and coffee in between video calls etc.

Our research has shown us that Google searches of hot water taps have increased by 25 per cent overall in 2020, which suggests that this is definitely a trend to look out for in 2021, with more and more of them being seen in homes.
