Minimalism is a major trend in interior design, and it could be here to stay. With a few standout design features, minimalism presents a classic look that will be in style for years to come.

Minimalist Cooker Hoods

Cooker hoods are a quick way to add an eye catching design feature to any kitchen, so you will want to avoid something large and noticeable in a minimalistic design scheme. As such, a canopy cooker would be ideal, because they remain hidden beneath your kitchen cupboards.

If you really want to go the extra mile, a downdraft cooker hood is a great alternative. It is stored directly in your counter. When you wish to use it, you can use touch controls to coax it out and hide it away again when you are finished cooking.

Built-In Appliances

While range cookers are beautiful and eye catching, they do not have a place in a minimalist kitchen. It is best to invest in a built in oven that will blend in with the rest of the décor. There are sophisticated integrated cookers that are equipped with many of the same features as range cookers.

Integrated dishwashers, refrigerators and wine coolers can sit discreetly behind your kitchen cupboards. You can fit them with doors that match the rest of your surfaces and they will blend right in.

Appliances To Avoid

Minimalism is all about keeping your surfaces completely clear and free of clutter. So you will want to cut out some appliances. You will likely have to do without any large appliances that have to sit on the counter when they are not in use. These include rice cookers, mixers and toasters. If these are essential tools in your kitchen, ensure that you have enough storage space to hide them away when you are not using them.

Coffee makers and microwaves also fit into this category. However, there are plenty of integrated coffee makers and built-in microwaves available to help you maintain your minimalist décor.
