As 2015 draws to a close, its time to think of the year ahead and the kitchens trends that it will undoubtably bring. As with all areas of design, trends come and go, but the ones that are truly defining are the ones that grow and evolve.

Inspired by the increase in social dining and hosting, the open plan kitchen is becoming a popular choice for these social types. With an open plan kitchen and dining room, you can cook and still be the life of the party and an engaging host.
Super glossy plastic finishes have been rising in popularity rather rapidly. The possibilities are endless when it comes to colour, with a neutral palette off-setting your plastic gloss, you can achieve some interesting effects.
A constant favourite, theres no stopping metallic kitchens popularity. Brushed steel is a way of keeping up with this trend but doing something a little different by avoiding the shinier traditional metal look. Brushed steel works especially well when countered with a matte finish on surrounding fixtures.
Kitchens with space in mind are on the horizon. Manufacturers are taking note of the need for space and are incorporating this into their appliances and fixtures. Hidden cupboards, touch doors and multi use appliances are the ones to watch.
